the seminal ambient and session project by the a-fon label. the a-fon project was founded in 1999 by doering, schaefer during the work on flat.scape. in 2002, work on the meta project spnt (pronounce shpint) began. from the beginning, a-fon has been oscillating between classical melodic ambient (lv), kitschy space ambient (spz), and more abstract glitch (phz).

in 2009, work on a new album kiaiii has begun.
