zahnbeitel is an attempt
to explore unseen dimensions of sound, music, and
noise. our main concept, known as concrete
multi-core noise, is open to all possible
influences; it creates new tension between complete
arbitrariness and perfect sense (concettismo),
between violence and subtlety. various intellectual
and artistic sources create a spectrum of noise,
industrial, electro, death, and avant-garde.
recordings including concrete multi-core noise are dotabata-no rekôdo and strepitus e.p.
since
all forms of noise are better performed live (and zahnbeitel also works as
a studio project) we also have a strong focus on the
post-electro manifestation
of the project.
in post-electronica we use methods
of electronic and strong rhythmic composition to
create pieces transcending classical electronica to
new stages. zahnfleischtrieb is the first
step in this direction. elektroplatte will
follow in 1999.
the
project was established july 1996 by schaefer and
does not have a specific line up. several
people are contributing in different ways.
in the
future, music, art, and performance shall form one
homogenous experience; the music and noises are
produced first and used as a starting point. more
literary works, video, 3d animation, installations,
and spatializations might be added later.
